Decarburization of Fe-C-Cr-Mn-Si steels at high temperatures in ambient air
Hajduga, M. ; Glowacki, J. ; Kučera, Jaroslav
The measured values of carbon concentration N(C,x,t) make it possible to get the diffusivities D(C) and hardness values HV(x,t) the coefficients D(HV). The values D(HV)=D(C) in the case that HV(x,t) values are dierectly proportional to N(C,x,t). It is shown that the fatigue limit of carbon steels may calculated from the relation ńëa=0.235HV05.
Properties and microstructure of cast nickel-chromium alloys containing tungsten and carbon as alloying elements
Kudrman, J. ; Sklenička, Václav ; Čmakal, J.
Model fast nickel-chromium alloys containing W and C as alloying elements exhibit markedly better creep resistance than is possible with currently available commercial nickel-chromium alloys. The model alloys are reinforced by primary and secondary tungsten carbides.
Microstructural mechanisms in high temperature creep of creep-resistant materials
Sklenička, Václav
This work describes a number of microstructural and micromechanistic processes occuring in high temperature creep of creep resistant materials and causing a degradation of the creep properties of these materials.
Creep behaviour of Mg-based alloys and their selected composites
Pahutová, Marie ; Kuchařová, Květa ; Svoboda, Milan ; Sklenička, Václav
This work report some experimental results obtained in an investigation of the high temperature creep behaviour [423ř 473 K] of selected fibre-reinforced matrix composites and their unreinforced matrix alloys. The creep resistance of an AZ 91 magnesium alloy.
Study of local creep properties of power-plant pipe after long-term service
Milička, Karel ; Dobeš, Ferdinand
A distribution of creep properties in the wall of exposed pipe bend was studied by means of small punch creep. The method consists in a deformation of miniaturized disc specimen by spherical punch under an influence of constant force at elevated temperature. The thickness of the disc applied in the present study was 0.5 mm. The technique is illustrated using results of the tests of pipe bend manufactured from low alloy steel of Czech designation 15128 (DIN equivalent 14MoV 6 3) after service at 540 0C and 17.1 MPa for 104,000 hours. The procedures for estimating creep rupture strength and creep ductility from small punch tests are given.
Viscous creep mechanisms and the possibilities of their experimental determination in metals and alloys
Fiala, J. ; Kopřivová, I. ; Kloc, Luboš
Mechanisms of viscous creep behaviour, i. e. diffusional creep and Harper-Dorn creep are discussed together with the possibilities of low-stress creep experiments.
Carbon and phosphorus redistribution in welded joints of carbon steels CSN(412050+0.1
Million, Bořivoj ; Stránský, K. ; Michalička, Petr ; Foret, R. ; Rek, A.
The diffusion specimens were isothermally annealed in the temperature range of 500 to 1100řC intervals. The concentration of P, C, Cr and Ni were measured by applying X-ray energy dispersion anlysis. The diffusion coefficients of P, C, Cr and Ni and thermodynamic interaction parameters were calculated. The uphill diffusion of phosphorus was observed on welding interface.
Microstructural changes in creep of TAF 650 steel at 650řC
Svoboda, Milan ; Dlouhý, Antonín ; Fejfarová, Ivana ; Sklenička, Václav ; Mayer, K. H.
The microstructure of high chromium martensitic steel TAF 650 was quantified by transmission electron microscopy and image analysis in virgin condition and after creep at 650řC for 4379 and 5888 h where marked decrease in time to fracture occurred. It is concluded that preferential recovery of regions without subgrains in virgin conditions and pronounced coarsening of Laves phase Fe2W, are responsible for an observed decrease in creep life.
On the residual creep life assessment based on macroscopic constitutive rules
Kloc, Luboš ; Sklenička, Václav ; Kuchařová, Květa
Critical analysis of errors of the residual creep life assessment methods based on the phenomenological macroscopic constitutive equations is presented. Extrapolations and missing definition of equivalent states are identified as a principal sources of errors.
